SHAK Makerspace

SHAK and the BLK SHP are working together to enable growth and change in Kokomo.

Black sheep ( is an international collective of artists, executives, popculture

figures, authors, educators, and entrepreneurs who strive to unlock artistry and

creativity in themselves and in their communities. We gather to play, to learn, to grow,

and to tackle problems in our neighborhoods and cities. Sometimes, we have bigger, nonlocal

impacts. No matter what - we have a helluva fun time.

This spring, we're driving an old Willie Nelson bus to explore the meaning of the "A" in

STEAM based approaches to learning.

We want to learn what's happening in the classroom, what's taking place in out-of-school learning environments, and what's going on in the artistic and entrepreneurial collaboratories of future-focused, community connected small businesses and nonprofits.

Our focus will be on how we are/can be:

Making More Innovation

Making More Engaging Education

Making Better Food/Health

Making Better Places to live
