The mission of SHAK organization is to foster a collaborative and educational environment wherein people can explore and create intersections between technology, science, art and culture for innovation, artistic, entrepreneurial and economic development purposes.
| SHAK upholds intentional inclusion in our Maker Community and has voted to adhere to the Nation of Makers Core Principles: *As the Nation of Makers, we believe:* • We are stronger and more sustainable when *everyone has the capacity to create*. We welcome differences in age, ability, race, religion, ethnicity, sex, gender, sexual orientation, citizenship, veteran status, marital status, parental status, level of education, and socioeconomic class. • We are stronger and more sustainable when *everyone is welcome*. All people within our movement, at our events, and in our makerspaces should feel safe, supported, heard, encouraged, and respected. • We are stronger and more sustainable when *everyone has the opportunity to ethically realize their ability to be a maker*. • We are stronger and more sustainable when *our culture evolves to be more inclusive* |
