We as a society throw away so many items everyday.  Just take a stroll down our allies on trash day.  We find bikes, lamps, tools, and event lawn mowers.  The fix-it take-it program is a collection of classes where we teach others how to fix items.  The way it works is, we try to get donations for some standard parts, you put in the time to learn how to fix it then you take it home.   Sometimes just a few dollars and some elbow grease you can fix or create something that will serve you for years.
