SHAK Make and Take - (Artist Trading Cards)

  • 21 May 2018

Registration is closed

Artist trading Cards or ATCs are being exchanged by artists all over the world.  These miniature canvasses are packed with major designs using everything from discarded candy wrappers to printed pages, fabric, strings and buttons. They can be elaborate or quite simple.  ATCs are the size of your typical playing card and in fact can start out as a playing card thickened with gesso canvass primer.

Join us to make one of your own to keep and one to trade with your neighbor in the workshop.

Local artist, Rebecca Rayls will lead the group in this project.  Rayls is passionate about clay sculpture and enjoys acrylic painting, flower arranging, fiber arts and printmaking. Rayls has studied at the Indianapolis Art Center and Herron School of Art.  Recent exhibitions include Valley of the Dolls II, Transforming Art in 2014 and Valley of the Dolls, Transforming Art in 2007.

These events are free and open to members and the public.  Registration is recommended. These are great family projects, but availability is on a first come basis.

If you come across an old incomplete deck of cards, or any small odds and ins to apply to the card art please bring to donate to SHAK so we may have materials for future sessions. This is not required.
